Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on April 17, 2023This is the only RV park in Susanville. Clean, well-maintained, and friendly hosts. A tough one to rate because it's really a very nice park. Close to groceries, Walmart, and Starbucks. Good spacing between sites. Concrete sites with green space, picnic tables. Laundry and showers. Dump and propane at front of park.
The dings come from the sewer connections at the sites and the broken and sunken concrete in most of the sites. All the connections are elevated, requiring "creative" set ups for your sewer hose. We finally just disconnected and dumped up front on our way out. The sunken concrete makes leveling more work.
We love animals. The park has two cats who are very friendly. So friendly that they come in your rig if the door is left open. One also jumped in our Jeep's back seat. Good thing our dog is tolerant of cats! The cat poop on the grass by our door was not cute.
For a couple nights we'd stay here again, but we'd definitely drive around first and try to find a site with a better sewer connection.

This is a decent park with concrete sites and separate area for car. Nice spacing, we never felt crowded and had a green space between. Good electric, water, and sewer. The town has the necessary stores including a Starbucks across the street, a large Safeway, and a Walmart. We would stay here again if in the area.

We stopped here for a longer stay to do some routine maintenance to the trailer and to do some shopping. Now shopping means a good Ace/hardware store, a couple good automotive store [Napa was excellent], Safeway, Starbucks and a Walmart. So don’t expect Nordstroms!
The park was REALLY, REALLY clean and tidy. The managers were friendly and helpful. Someone reviewed the sites as hard to level and dump tanks. We have an Airstream [a little lower than most trailers] and we didn’t have any problem dumping. Yes, many of the pads are cracked concrete, but I didn’t see any that would have presented a problem with leveling.
Mobile phone connections were good for Verizon, but just 2 and 3 bars for AT&T LTE. Good enough for Netflix streaming, though.
Many of the shopping spots are within 3 block walking distance. Deer and quail strolled through the park every evening. Very quiet!!!
We’d stay here again and enjoyed our extended stop-over.

Nice campground decently maintained and they are continuing to make improvements. There is lighting at night and bathrooms were above average. Close to town but otherwise not many sites around. Fairy easy getting in and out. Laundry was $1.50/wash and $2.00/dry

This campground is right in the middle of Susanville. It's not off the main road, though, but a side road. So getting in and out is quite easy without the pressure of main road traffic. There's a Walmart and a Safeway 2 minutes away. Plenty of local eateries too. We ate at three different cafes and all were good.
Our site 5/5 stars:
Paved, level, and with grass! Our site was very nice. Quite roomy too. I was able to sit outside at the picnic table and let my dog be on her tie out without bothering anyone.
Dog friendliness 4/5 stars:
Plenty of walking area and grass at all the sites. There are 4 small fenced dog areas but they are more like doggie bathroom stalls. Also, they weren't grassed which is odd. Only gravel. My dog didn't like them much.
Bathhouse and showers 3/5 stars:
Decent enough, but the showers could use some TLC. They weren't the cleanest in the world (but not bad enough to not use) and needed some general repair. Baseboards were damaged from moisture. The shower itself was a plastic shell liner which is fine, but it wasn't the cleanest. Water was hot and pressure was ok. They had a large heater in the bathroom which was very nice for cold mornings. We were there in early November and the heat was very welcome in the mornings.
Overall campground 4/5 stars:
Definitely a nice campground that I would recommend to anyone. There were obvious signs of improvement (several sites were roped off and looked to be freshly paved and leveled). The park was very clean in general and the location was great.

The park was very clean and seemed to be maintained pretty well for the most part. The bathrooms were clean and they even had a clean scent to them. The only downsides were that the WiFi was not working (which we get internet from our AT&T cell service anyway) so not a total loss, the power was disrupted with only a sign at the office window saying the power was out throughout the park, and the office has limited hours. Most of the cable tv channels worked, but there a quite a few of them that were audio only and no video. Overall, we were happy with our stay and will be happy to stay again.
Cost $45/nt included our Good Sam discount for full hookups to accommodate our 20’ travel trailer.

We only stopped here for a couple of nights on our way through but we enjoyed the park. Pretty much everything you'd want. Full hook ups, 50 amp, decent Verizon and AT&T and long and level pull through sites that allowed us to keep our Jeep hooked up.
Easy walking distance to dining and groceries. Plenty to explore nearby if you're staying longer too. A bit pricey, IMHO, but I guess $50 a night with tax isn't uncommon anymore. We've paid more for less.

We have underlying conditions and are taking this Covid epidemic very seriously. Because of that, we won’t stay at any campgrounds that don’t allow “no contact” check in. We have had no problems with that until Susanville. When we asked the woman on the phone if we could have no contact check in, her response was, “What do you expect me to do? Run in and out and back and forth and play 20 questions with you?” No, we just wanted her to take our credit card over the phone. Horrible treatment of a potential customer. Horrible.
Office staff won't wear a mask even when under CA State mandate.
And you get to listen to their blasting TV in the living room from the office.
Won't return.
