Whitefish Dunes State Park is a 865 acre Wisconsin state park on the eastern shore of the Door Peninsula. This day-use park preserves the most substantial sand dunes on the western shore of Lake Michigan. The remains of eight successive prehistoric Native American villages are on the National Register of Historic Places as Whitefish Dunes-Bay View Site.

The beaches at Whitefish Dunes State Park are incredibly beautiful and clean. Also - if you walk down to the 2nd or 3rd access point there is significantly less people and you can have a whole slice of waterfront all to yourselves! This was one of my favorite spots we visited in Door County

It’s quite a hike to the swimming beach but pretty walk. The sand is super nice like sugar sand. I think due to the water being higher we didn’t see much Dunes. There is a dog beach but a mile walk or so from the main beach. Great swimming though but little kids should have life jackets on. Strong waves.
