“nearly all-wood bridge with a tin roof”
A well known covered bridge in the area, the Lockport Bridge, is located between West Unity and Stryker near Goll Woods Nature Preserve. It was constructed in 1999 and spans the Tiffin River. Measuring 30 feet wide and 167 feet long, this Side Howe truss bridge was designed by SSOE from Toledo, Ohio, and is constructed almost completely out of wood - with the exception of the tin roof. The construction cost was $1.7 million.
Modern covered bridge circa 1999,possibly a restoration.! Worth the diversion. 12-15 min.from 80W..,
Pretty bridge but it is not as old or interesting as the many other covered bridges in the the state. Sorta off the freeway, probably not worth the stop. Save your stop for another covered bridge that's more historical. This one was built or renovated in 1999.
