“Protecting Florida nature”
Weedon Island Preserve is an expansive 3,190-acre natural area located on Tampa Bay. It is comprised mostly of marine ecosystems with some uplands. Indigenous peoples occupied this site for thousands of years. Today, the preserve protects this wide diversity of natural and cultural resources for current and future generations. Weedon Island Preserve is also a well-known birding and fishing site. Pinellas County Extension is proud to offer a variety of educational and interpretive programs for the public at Weedon Island Preserve Cultural & Natural History Center. The goal of these programs is to empower citizens to make informed decisions about natural and cultural resources.
