The 100-year-old Sunken Gardens is St. Pete’s oldest living museum, and a world famous roadside botanical attraction located in the Old Northeast district.

It features over 50,000 plants and flowers, including some of the oldest tropical plants in the region arranged into beautiful gardens with flowing ponds in the middle. It’s a relaxing place to visit just to stroll around and admire the beauty, take photos, or attend one of their events, like when they showcase a holiday lights display in the winter.

We think a trip here is one of the best things to do in St. Pete!

I always love coming here. I can't believe I'm in the middle of a busy city. Surrounded by so much beauty and interesting plants makes for a fun day of photography. Grab your camera and go! Also, there is a huge adventure play place next door for the kids who aren't into looking at plants grow. :) haha. I will be back!

We loved it! Amazing gardens that have been around for a hundred years! It doesn't look really dated like so many older attractions though. They manage to pack a lot of flora and fauna into a relatively small space. I saw Groupons to save on admission price, so check before going.
