“Put a hand on imagination”
We make the tradition of working in glass available for all by offering classes in glassblowing, fused kiln-formed glass and bead-making with torch and glass rods. Visitors are welcome to stop by any time during working hours to watch glass artists blow glass or to browse our gallery, which features glass gift items created by Third Degree artists. Please call ahead to confirm the glassblowing schedule. Or treat your group to a private glassblowing demonstration or a behind the scenes tour of our studios; call for reservations and costs. To help raise awareness of glass art, Third Degree holds a free family-friendly open house with glassblowing, live music and art openings the third Friday of each month, 6 p.m.-10 p.m.
My family of four had a WONDERFUL time! We collect Christmas Ornaments from each state we visit. This was the first time we have ever MADE our own. We stopped in to get a tour of the factory, they are not set up for that unless you call ahead and set it up. What we got was FAR BETTER. We got hands on experience with our very own personal glass artist, Brent. She was a fine teacher and helped my two daughters understand what they would be doing and then helped them do it. They were asked which colors they wanted in the ornament, then they heated the glass up in the 2300 degree furnace then they rolled, blew, shaped, and created their very own glass ornament. It was Fantastic! Not the least expensive project we have done but worth EVERY penny! The Ornament must cool for ten days then it will be shipped to us. The ornament was a bit pricey at a total just short of $100, but the education and experience were priceless. Thanks, Third Degree, we will Highly Recommend you!
Excellent artists display their work and happily explain and show how they make their glass objects. Very educational to see artists at work.
