Great stop for a walk to stretch your legs. It was very pretty and informative
Great docent and information.
Love history so this is a must stop. Beautiful property with trees and well preserved buildings. Loved the walking path dotted with information signs. Great walk with the puppies. Nice visitor center with nice Park Rangers. Get there on time for a guided tour and a movie. Passport book holders get your stamp and cancellation in the visitor’s center.
This was a nice history lesson. Great place to stretch your legs.
Had a lovely visit. Roadtrip from TX to NJ this is a nice easy stop driving through. We did get a little confused with Grant's farm next door. The historic home is the first right with the big red barns.
Guided tour took less than 30 mins park ranger was very informative and friendly. Nice clean facilities. Small museum inside the barn with glorious ac. Small gift shop with typical nps souvenirs.
The setting was so beautiful. I was on a ranger led tour and I think they did a fine job of representing the slaves’ stories here which is important considering this is a former plantation. The museum in the horse barn definitely took a very pro Grant angle on some issues, like his drinking, so take some of the info in with a grain of salt. There’s also supposed to be a stellar bike path here as well.
Shockingly wonderful! This is one of the best historical stops you can make. The house tour is not to be missed. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I visited while there was several summer camps happening but never had my tour interrupted or was crowded by campers.
We started the morning here and it turned out to be an awesome 90 minute stop. Good video, great guided tour, and the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They have a Junior ranger program my son enjoyed. My 2 year old got bored earlier than the other 2, but the wife and I really enjoyed it and learned a ton too.
