“Splendor of the golden age”
Lightner Museum of St. Augustine is a museum of antiquities, mostly American Victorian, housed within a historic hotel building in a Spanish Renaissance Revival style. The building is an attraction in itself, centering on an open palm courtyard with an arched stone bridge spanning a fishpond.
We love antiques, but the price was a little much for what we felt we got. For example, there are many antique stuffed chairs that say “Do not sit”. Yet, there is no signage with the history of the chairs. We found it odd. It is beautiful just wish they had an audio version of the tour so you could hear the history as you went through.
This is not a hotel
Lots to See. Need to Take your Time to get through & See it all. You could Spend a Few Hours there and not Realize it.
