The Southern Oaks Inn is Family operated and Pet Friendly. We strive to make all our guests feel like family. Our rooms are welcoming and clean. There is no carpet in any of the rooms. The floors are laminated wood and ceramic tile. We have brand new furniture and our rooms feature either 2 comfortable queen beds or 1 comfortable king bed. The location is ideal – less than 5 minutes north of Historic Downtown St Augustine and the most popular sites and attractions. Vilano Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the city, is also just 5 minutes from the Inn. We are on US 1 for easy access to Interstate 95. Restaurants, shopping, and a trolley center are all nearby. The Inn features a welcoming lobby, a spacious breakfast room, and a business center. The pool is one of the largest in St Augustine and the grounds offer ample space to roam and relax in the shade under one of the huge southern oak trees. There is plenty of complimentary off street parking, a complimentary concierge service, complimentary wi-fi access, complimentary room service, and a complimentary breakfast bar served daily.

It looked like our room had recently been renovated (they were renovating some of the rooms) and it looked really nice in the "bedroom" but unfortunately it was not at all clean in the bathroom. There was hair all over the tub and there was grime and dust all over the bathtub & toilet. I can't help but think if they left it this visibly dirty, what else isn't clean that I can't see (like the sheets). But the staff was friendly, it's a good location to downtown (about 1 1/2 miles right down the street, we walked several times) and like I said the bedroom part was nice looking. The only other thing I didn't like was it was an outside facing hotel but there is no chain or large flip lock on the inside of the door, the the key card and dead blot. I prefer a chain or something especially with an outside facing door. I don't have any pets but it's also pet friendly and we didn't hear any of our neighbors through the walls (something I hate).
