I want to thank the town of St Albans for a free stay right on the river! That said, expect some road noise and the occassional train in the background. Thanks to the free electric hookup our AC masked the noise and we slept great. The water spigot did not work, however there was one on the front of the restroom building. Park services left a key so they obviosly knew about the problem which I reported to the town. There is a trash can at each of the 4 sites and a single dump station. You can walk across the street to McDonalds and Kroger. Lots of standing water around so they must have had rain recently. Saw a police officer checking on an illegal tent the morning I left so they are watching the place. Locals are friendly.

Nice spot for free - 30 AMP, there is supposed to be water and dump station here, but did not see it. Also it looked like 2 of the 3 sites were taken by people that were staying more than 2 nites. (it is supposed to be 2 nite max).

This was a beautiful and FREE spot right on the river with 30 amp electric. There are three RV spots in a nice little city park, where you can walk along the waterfront.

The park is only a few minutes off of I-64 in the middle of St. Albans, and it's definitely worth driving by to see if there is an opening.

The only downside was the noise from the adjacent highway that runs through town, but that's a small price to pay!

This place is awesome if you’re lucky enough to get one of the three spots. The ONLY issue is that there is a low tree on the road needed to get around to the three sites...that is if you want the back of the camper towards the water. My 5th wheel is 42ft long and right at 13’ 5” tall...had a heck of a time getting around that tree so I could get trailer the direction I wanted. If the city trimmed that one tree up about 2ft, this would be an easy 5 star. Can’t beat great view at no cost!

Only 3 spots. Nicely paved pull through spots with power. There was a class A next to us that kept popping his breaker. Ours worked just fine for us. Situated along a nice river. There is a paved walking trail and a children’s play ground next to the park.
The only downside was the road was right next to the sites. There is however bike lanes on the highway if you cycle.

Perfect spot for a Free overnight stay. Well kept area with gated spacious playground. Electric hookup worked without issue. There is a dump and fresh water fill station, picnic table and charcoal grill. There is a very small bicycle lane leaving the park to dairy Queen and other goodies. We would have given it a try but have a double trailer that would not fit.
The road got pretty quiet around 10pm and started back up again around 7a (Thur night). It's also a very well lit area so street lights will light up camper. I'm a little sensitive to both noise and light but easily managed for a night.
And the McD Wi-Fi worked from our site.

Nice place to dump as we came back home to WV. Have to go about 15 minutes off the interstate to get here, but the price is right (free!) Hard to get back on the main road (US 60) during daytime traffic. Very thankful they provide this service.

Stayed here 11/25/19. Good stop over on the way through. 3 sites with 30amp electricity only. There is a dump station located near the entrance. Traffic was loud as the park is right next to the road. There was a playground and nice view of the river/ river boats traveling by. There is also a small park next to the campground dedicated to Rosie the Riveter. There is a 2 day stay limit within a 15 day period. We would stay here again.

We stopped here while passing through and this allowed us to visit with friends that we haven’t seen in several years. There aren’t any campgrounds in the area and this was perfect. Excellent paved site, free 30A hook up on the site, with water and a spotless dump station on the way out. It was great to watch the coal barges and hear the coal trains in the distance at night. Sites are adjacent to a well maintained playground for kids. The power poles and picnic tables were in disrepair, BUT again, it was FREE and an Excellent 2 night stay. Thank you St. Albans Park Department.
