If you're afraid of heights this might not be the hike for you, but that in mind, it's an absolutely astonishing view from the top and a can't miss if you're near the area. It's not really as dangerous as they make it sound as long as you're decently careful you'll be fine. I was only fifteen when I climbed it with thirty others my age; just don't be stupid. The switchbacks are tough but hang in there for an amazing victory view at the top!
Here's an almost full trail hike video:
This was SO much fun! Great for someone looking for some adventure but NOT for someone who has a fear of heights. Please read that last sentence again! The first portion of the hike is to scouts lookout. The hike is pretty steep switchbacks. After that is the harder part. Don't be stupid, watch your step, focus on where you are walking. The end is very much worth it. I'd recommend going with the first shuttle at 6 am because this can get VERY busy and can make the hike not as enjoyable. I went up at 6:15 and came back down at 10:30 and on the way down we constantly had to stop for others. Also, you go back down the way you went up.
One of the most exhilarating hikes I've ever been on! While it's not very difficult in terms of elevation, the upper part where you have to hold on to the chains is definitely not for the faint of heart! I'm so happy I did it! Gave me a great sense of accomplishment.
Awesome hike! a must for anyone with with a little bit of daredevil in their blood! not as bad as it looks at all though. there are some really nice views of the valley from the top. and some kinda scary parts going up. not for people who are scared of heights. only about three miles in all if I remember right.
An absolutely amazing hike for the true adventurer. Our best advice is to start early. We were on the 6:30 shuttle and beat most of the crowds. Also a lot cooler at that time of day. This is a strenuous hike but well worth the endeavor. Take plenty of water, and plan on leaving poles or tripods at the Scout Lookout. There's a lot of scrambling to get to the landing and those around us with poles were really struggling.
The path is quite tricky but worth it
The. Greatest. Hike. Ever. The views are jaw-dropping, the hike is exhausting, and the prospect of making your way to the top along support chains anchored into the rock is terrifying, but if you're up for it you absolutely have to do Angel's Landing.
At 5 miles round trip with lots of elevation, be prepared to spend at least half your day here. But don't worry, the view from the top will be more than worth it. Start early, before it gets too hot.
$25 for one vehicle; gives admission for 7 days
