Carvers Creek State Park

Carvers Creek State Park is the first North Carolina state park to open in the Sandhills region! Carvers Creek contains more than 4,000 acres in Harnett and Cumberland counties. This is one of the only places where you can experience the Longleaf pine ecosystem.  As you walk the trails of Long Valley Farm Access, you will experience a variety of habitats including longleaf pine forest, Piedmont field, wetlands, and a Millpond. You'll also encounter the winter residence of James Stillman Rockefeller, the spring house, the Pavilion, an old farm site and other historic structures. There are two hiking trails in the park: the James S. Rockefeller Trail and the Cypress Point Loop Trail.  Fishing and picnicking can also be done on site. Environmental education programs are planned throughout the year.
