Each site is on gravel and has water and electric hookups. Some sites can accommodate big rigs up to 40 feet. 25 of the sites offer 50 amp service. The campsites are located near restrooms with hot showers. They were clean and well maintained when we were there. You can make reservations by calling or using their online system. A minimum of two nights are required when making reservations. There is a dump station located in the park and a camp store with some last minute camping supplies as well as firewood. Each site does does come with a fire pit and picnic table. We stayed in the Lake Campground Loop and paid $21 a night for a 45 foot back in site. There are basically two loops the campground one is called “Campground” Loop and that seems to be where a lot of the campers with horses stay and the other is the “Lake Campground Loop” which is the one we stayed in.
Again we were in site 39 and I recommend site 38 and 37 as well for level sites and a very nice water view. Site 38 might be the best.
Activities available at Croft State Park are: camping, picnicking, hiking, biking and geocaching to name a few. There is a beautiful lake within the park that you are allowed to take boats with motors out on. I really liked this campground because from the loop that we were camping in had a view of the lake and a water view is always a thumbs up in my book.
Amenities included in the park include a playground, picnic shelters, a skeet shooting range and a 15 mile long bike trail. Another neat thing about this park is the Equestrian facilities. The facilities include a stable with rental stalls, a show ring and equestrian trails.

Stayed 5/25/2018 to 5/28/2018. We stayed here as our last park in the series of all state parks visited in south Carolina. Was a nice place to stay for a few nights. Did some walking and driving nearby to towns.

We're a big rig, and while there are quite a few sites that can handle our largeness, not all sites at Croft can - or should. For those over 35' who require being any semblance of level, stick to these sites: 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 26, 34, 35, 48, 49.
The sites are nicely wooded - except nearest to the lake, where sites hang almost precariously over a steep hill with expansive lake views from the rear. Each site has at least water & 30A - some have 50A. Host sites and handicapped sites have sewer also.
We had lots of issues with water while we were here. From an initial spurt of orange/dirty water, to later having our filters completely clogged - to our loop of the campground (Lake Loop) being completely out of water due to pump issues. I don't think our experience was typical - but it was a pain.
Bathrooms are heated in the cool months (like December when we stayed) and water is ok pressure and decently hot in the showers. Not overly clean or new - not overly dirty or old.
This park has really lovely hiking trails and is popular with horseback riders and mountain bikers. We came for a 24hours foot race through the trails - one that got terribly messy due to 24hours of cold rain. There is a large area for parking horse trailers and stalls and a riding arena that can be used - and looks to be used frequently in the warmer months for horse shows.
Staff at this park is really accommodating. When we pulled up to the site we had reserved, we were a bit fearful of trying to squeeze into it and not roll off a cliff - and we knew we wouldn't be able to get level. The folks at the office gave us a list of new sites to try that had availability, and we found one that fit our size better. Several days into our stay, the water on our loop went out. After not coming back on for 2 nights, we decided to roll out - there was no where to fill fresh water due to well issues. The staff refunded us our final night without a problem.
There is a shooting range near the back of this park - and it can be heard throughout the park, and especially through the non-lake loop.
The drive to get into and out of the park is a good 10 minutes, so add that time to your travel if you wish to pop in or out of the park. There is also a gate that needs to be manually unlocked and swung open and closed by hand between the hours of 6pm - 7am.
Verizon and AT&T coverage are both dismal. We didn't see any improvement in experience through use of a booster for Verizon. We saw slight improvement through use of a MIMO antenna for Verizon. We were able to get inconsistent speeds of ~2Mbps UP, and 1Mbps DOWN with antenna. Voice calls dropped frequently.
We'd stay again - but we'd hope for a better water situation - or be prepped with a full fresh tank. And we'd know which sites were cool and which weren't. And we'd plan not to do a lot of telephone calling while we were there.

We stayed here for two nights in mid-October while attending an event in the area. There are two campgrounds and we stayed in the Lake Campground. The park is generally in good shape, but the gravel roads and sites have eroded, leaving some gullies. Our fire pit was actually suspended in the air on its back side because of erosion, and the site itself was steep enough to make blocking and leveling our small trailer difficult. Big rigs should be aware that some sites are rather tight and could be hard to back into.
The restrooms were older but in good shape, and the heat on a cold rainy night was appreciated.. The wife said the ladies shower needed a good cleaning but the one on the men's side was OK. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We had no trouble with the power or water hookups. The dump station worked well. The access road to the park is fairly long, so stock up on what you need before arriving.
There's a number of hiking trails in the park, and Spartanburg isn't too far away. We'll likely stay here again.

It seems like a very nice park for a motorhome under 30 foot. The access road is very rough and any motorhome over 30- 35 ft in my opinion cannot get in. The access roads are tight, the sites are uneven, and the turn to get into the dump station I would guess could not fit anything over a 25ft Class C. The park rangers were very nice and they refunded our entire deposit.

Park campgrounds are small and I wouldn’t want to be any bigger than our 40ft but we fit nicely on site 46. Would a few other sites that would fit and provide lake view from our party deck. Lake was nice. WiFi was pretty bad the first couple days but apparently there were nationwide issues. Monday/Tuesday we had to go to town to work. Wednesday-Friday we were ok at site.....download good...upload still a bit slow.

The park was great. The views are awesome. The sites are a little small and I would have preferred my particular site to be a little more level, but it was overall functional. My biggest issue with internet access with T-Mobile. The signal was very weak. The trails at Croft and at the nearby South Side were great and were surprisingly dry despite all the recent rain.

We stayed here December 2020. First thing to note is the SC minimum stay of 2 nights at state parks. We actually stayed one but paid for two. It ended up being the same price as one night at any close by RV Park. Most sites did not look level, our definitely was not, however it looked like they might be working on leveling sites better. Small campground with beautiful lake views. Well maintained. Walking trails. We enjoyed our visit!
