This is an unusual gem in Utah County. It’s part religious shrine, part animal sanctuary. I saw llamas, peacocks, macaws, parrots, Japanese koi, rabbits, Zebu cows in the outside animal farm. Inside is a cool gift shop, bathrooms, vegetarian buffet (I got here a little early so call for best time to eat). Second floor is a stunning temple with a huge dome filled with Indian art and iconography (you are required to remove shoes to go upstairs in Temple). TIPS: bring baby carrots or cut apples to feed llamas.
DURING COVID: masks, hand sanitizing and social distancing is required.
Beautiful
What a beautiful place! Definitely worth stopping and checking out! Temple is gorgeous and so many birds from parrots to peacocks and more. If you are hungry they have a vegan authentic Indian buffet that smelled amazing!
I didn’t have the same experience as others who’ve reviewed this site. I found it stunningly appalling! Read on... Upon entering the grounds I was delighted by its beauty and the joy to be heard by birdsong. That ended real fast. The first person I saw ignored me. When I greeted them they barely acknowledged my presence. A few minutes later I was approached by someone else who told me I could continue to take pictures if I gave them $40! I explained that was a bit high for me and asked if I could make a smaller donation. He simply stared at me for a moment and said “It’s $40 dollars for maintenance.” So, the tour is free, but a few pictures of peacocks is $40? I lived in an ashram for almost 3 years and I could never fathom being unfriendly and unwelcoming to any visitor- ever-, let alone turn someone away for not having enough money. I fail to see the enlightenment in that.
Well worth the stop and it wasn't even open. There were llamas, sunflowers, and the gorgeous building to behold. We arrived a bit too early for an actual tour, but enjoyed the photo op and novelty.
This is an interesting conglomerate of Hindu temple, co-op farm, yoga studio, Indian restaurant, and South Asian nick-nack store. I wouldn't go out of your way to see it, but it's something interesting if you're in the area or if your taking a class there.
Was surprised to find this on our way through Utah. Lovely building and grounds. We did not tour or visit as it was late in the day but would give it a shot if we were in the area again.
