“who needs the Eiffel Tower or Space Needle?”
[Under construction please check before visiting.]
Paris has the Eiffel Tower, Seattle has the Space Needle and Soap Lake has the Worlds largest Lava Lamp!
Soap Lake, a once bustling spa town due to its unique mineral lake (presently being studied by NASA and the National Science Foundation) is located in Eastern Washington State, USA and is in need of renewed tourism and re-development.
The concept of the Giant Lava Lamp, conceived by Brent Blake, and assisted by friend John Glassco, is an appropriate theme structure for the community.
Soap Lake has always been a healing and art community, and the lava lamp is soothing, calming, healing and an art icon. The lava name is unique because the region is one of the last areas of earth to have had massive horizontal flows of lava that is today a beautiful geological wonder. After 14,000,000 years, lava has returned to Soap Lake.
The Soap Lake Lava®Lamp is a technically advanced structure incorporating fabric tension, high efficiency solar cell, and advanced laser projection technology to mimic the random, fluid, bubble-like "lava" forms universally associated with the classic Lava®Lamp manufactured by Lava®Lite LLC.
The laser projectors have the capability of projecting a wide variety of images via rear screen projection onto the enclosing weatherproof fabric scrim fabricated from Tenara® architectural fabric by SEFAR. This remarkable fabric is woven with durable fibers developed by W. L. Gore (manufactures of Gore-Tex).
It doesn't exist or is at least not accessible. Until it is, it should be removed from Roadtrippers.
This place doesn't exist except in the minds of Soap Lake residents. After a little research, we found out that the city has all the pieces to this paragon of awesome in the middle of nowhere. But they don't have the funds to assemble it. So DO NOT drive this unendurable distance just to have all your dreams scatter like dust in the wind. We did.
