“Camping in Wayne County since 1969”
Welcome to Lake Wapusun Campground, which is one of the only campgrounds in Wayne County, Ohio that has been in operation since 1969. We are proud to offer 5 fishing lakes on 107 rolling acres with 400 campsites in beautiful Amish and Mohican Country. We are located on State Rt. 3, 11 miles South of Wooster and 8 miles North of Loudonville. Lake Wapusun offers fun family camping located in Amish and Mohican Country. Clean, quiet and friendly atmosphere is complimented by a large 23 acre swimming and fishing lake, surrounded by 5 smaller lakes. We are 5 minutes from the nearest canoe livery, close to golf courses, cheese factories, Mohican Forest, Amish homes, horseback riding, Roscoe Village, miniature golf, speedways, water slides and many fine restaurants. Within an hour's drive are The Living Bible Museum, Yankee Peddler, and Wooster and Loudonville Fairs. For those coming from outside Ohio, we are a good stopover for Cedar Point and Kings Island. We have accommodations for anything from a tent to an RV. Our campground offers back to nature camping without all the commercial crowds. if you want to camp daily or seasonally, rent a cottage or a trailer, and be in the sun or shade, Lake Wapusun has something to offer you!
If you are into loud people, dirty campgrounds, and a horrible all-round experience, you should try Lake Waposun. The lake itself is covered in a green slime, and the campground is full of loud drunks that will literally come to your camp and harass you, and solicit goods that were manufactured in the backwoods of rural ohio. We literally left in the middle of the night due to the fact the noise level was worse than the inner city, and everyone that lives there in their RV, somehow has a Gator to ride around on at 2:30 in the morning. Would rather get a root canal than go back to Camp Wamposun. Stay away!!
