A beautiful hiking spot with plenty of wildlife and trails that wind around the ponds and lakes. There is also a fun water play area for kids, a place to rent kayaks and a few playgrounds. If you look for the trailheads outside of the main areas the small crowds thin out dramatically. A great Day trip location.
I love Sharon Woods. It's a huge park with running trails through the woods as well as paved and a bunch of smaller playground areas. It's nice for hiking or running and generally just being in nature. There's a running path that goes around a small lake - about 2.8 miles - so one or a couple of loops is a really nice run.
This is a great park for exploring and events. There are loads of shelters, but they do fill up; be sure to reserve well in advance. They also have an indoor play area for kids, which is great when the weather turns and you need to get your children out of your house.
You will need to pay to get in. Really, though, get a Hamilton County Parks pass. It is worth the few bucks.
My favorite park when I was a kid. I loved splashing in the creek and fountain and climbing on the ice age animals...wear stuff you don't mind getting wet in :)
I loved the playground, with its splash park, as a kid and I loved paddle boating on the lake. I did some of the trails and found them to be "meh" but I think it's just because I did those in the winter.
I can't believe it took me so long to visit this park. I like that it offers a lot of isolation for the city.
Can't wait to explore it more in the spring/summer.
