Vito's

Vito’s is an iconic restaurant and lounge located on First Hill. Opened in 1953, it has a history rich in cocktail culture, organized crime and east coast, family style Italian food. In April of 2010, Jeff Scott and Greg Lundgren purchased this Seattle institution and began a major restoration of the space. Their goal is to return Vito’s to the glamor and style of the 1950s, respect its colorful past and set the course for a 21st-century resurrection. Over the years the club has fallen into disrepair and poor alterations. They have replaced the dance floor with a performance space centered around a grand piano, with lounge singers, jazz trios and Lynchian curiosities that will dazzle and entertain into the early morning. The Cougar Room is our private banquet room. If the walls could talk, they would recite the most unbelievable stories. It has served as a board room for politicians and gangsters, a place for businessmen to finalize a deal, and the midnight gambler to play until dawn. There are no windows. Only 48 feet of floor to ceiling carpet and one very large cat named Barbara. We open up the Cougar Room for your meetings and parties. Whether it is a business deal or a birthday meal, the Cougar Room is available for private functions by reservation only. It hosts a stereo with an MP3 connection so you can create your own soundtrack, and seating for groups up to 18. Dinner, drinks or a group conversation, there is not a more interesting, or scenic private room in town.
