Chuck's Hop Shop

It's impossible to classify Chuck's. With 38 craft beers on tap and around 1,000 more bottled beers, Chuck's satisfies the geekiest of beer geeks. But with gummy bears, granola bars, and Full Tilt ice cream, it also pleases families with young kids in tow. It's a place for everyone in the community; even dogs are welcome. On any given day, this mom-and-pop convenience store-cum-tasting room is packed with happy regulars drinking beer from mason jars, playing board games, eating house bratwurst or something on offer from one of the daily rotating food trucks. Newbies wander awe-struck along the cooler cases stocked with every beer imaginable, experiencing a kind of choice paralysis akin to trying to pick a movie rental from Blockbuster. During the summer, the crowd spills out onto the sunny patio, and Chuck's feels like paradise. It may be hard to classify, but one thing is clear: beer is a powerful community unifier.
