Stayed here for one night enroute to the badlands. It was very clean and family friendly. The showers were free, too, which is a plus. If I needed a place to camp in the area, I would stay here again.
Clean, friendly, quiet family atmosphere. Definitely a great choice for those just passing through for the night or looking to spend the weekend doing some easy camping
Its right outside the edge of town, so easy to get to local stores but still in nature right next to the river. Very reasonably priced, nice showers and bathrooms, and the river offers good views and fishing. Definitely would stay again.
Beautiful sites. Shady and very neat. Bathrooms and shower houses very clean and spacious. Quiet. We would absolutely stay here again.
Stayed for one night on our way to the Badlands but would definitely stay again! The campsite is extremely well maintained. Every site has a picnic table and fire pit with grate. Wood is available at the camp entrance or local stores. *Emerald Ash Borer quarantine zone, so don't buy more than you can use.* Bathrooms were clean with free showers, and there are multiple drinking water stations around camp. As of 2019 the park entrance fee was $6 on top of the campsite fee (we rented a cabin - it had air conditioning!). Great spot for a family trip, as there is a playground, paved bike trails, and walking trails. Most sites have a gravel pad for an RV/car and enough flat grass to set up a tent.
Big Sioux Recreation Area is located on the banks of South Dakota's Big Sioux River and is popular among campers, wildlife enthusiasts, canoers and history buffs. The area is also a great place for snowmobiling in the winter.
A well maintained campground. The hikes were strenuous with beautiful views of the prairies. We stayed here off season, but even with showers and restrooms closed, the campgrounds were fairly booked.
Really well kept campground. Sites are large and shaded. Bathrooms are clean and nice! Sites are electric only. But everything else was perfect for our one night stay.
