“Prepare for the dark & the grime!”
The tour will take you 300 feet below the earth into the pitch blackness old-time miners, some as young as seven or eight, had to face. While you won’t have to deal with poisonous gases, you will feel the chill. The Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour is open from April 1st through November 30th and is closed only on Thanksgiving Day.
Closed until further notice due to Covid. Updated Roadtrippers 08/08/2020
Now open for tours, rain or shine. If raining water does seep down making some of the walking planks a little slippery, so have a good rubber sole show on. Nice tour and information regarding mining era.
Make sure to arrive early. The mine was cool and I would recommend. Great to do on a hot day.
