“Stars shine brighter here”
At its core, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts celebrates the human experience by providing a platform for a range of artistic voices and perspectives. The Center’s vision is to inspire, provoke and entertain by presenting a wide array of dynamic performances, programs and events chosen to engage the community. Our 2013–14 season is filled with marquee names from Broadway, Hollywood and Nashville performing exciting new collaborations and works, many for the first time on our stage. You will also find emerging talents from around the globe, including aspiring young artists from as far away as Brazil, Japan and South Africa. Seeing these extraordinary performers in our intimate 853-seat Virginia G. Piper Theater is a truly one-of-a-kind experience that you won’t find anywhere else. As presenters of live arts, we curate a diverse season filled with the artists of our time. But there is so much more to a performing-arts institution than what happens onstage. Our audiences play a vital role as well. In our increasingly digitized and virtual world, the performing arts provide a unique opportunity to be part of a shared, real-time experience. All of the Center’s programs connect us to the greater world, to our inner artist and, most of all, to each other. Join us to rediscover your favorites and take a chance on the unexpected – you won’t be disappointed!
