The staff were helpful with local information and even escorted us to our site and helped us pull through. The bathrooms were newly renovated and there was a large laundry. The park is 30 minutes from Savannah but there’s nothing of much quality any closer to the historic district. The kids really enjoyed the playground which was centrally located.
Be cautioned if you want any amenities other than a pool this is not the place to stay. Our picnic table is not usable as its so decayed. The play area is dirty not raked or repaired. The lounges in the pool were moldy and dirty on the underside, when my granddaughters leg slipped thru it came out covered in mold.( this is what made us look underneath). I went to use the laundry and the machines were dirty and someone had washed ground cover of some kind leaving chunks of dirt and leaves in machine. We are 5 sites from the main road and hear road noise all the time. Now having said all that, we are close to Savannah, if you are looking to tour the area and not spend time here, then it is fine.
We were late making a reservation and Savannah Oaks was the only spot we could find. Having preferred a secluded camping experience or state park (for our 3 kids to roam and play) we were suprised by how comfortable it was! Everything was clean and everyone was super friendly! Helpful stall with store conveniently located and open until 10pm. Pool was great! Fishing, trails and AMAZING bath houses! Only recommendation would be to bring hand soap and towel for hand washing in bathroom...they only have hand sanitizer in restrooms. Fire pits and wood available at store. We enjoyed their hand dipped ice cream, basketball and tetherball! Playground wasn’t the greatest, but we spent a lot of time off site anyway. There is a pool table and a couple arcade games in the laundry house, washer and dryers PLUS a dog washing station! Seems like they thought of it all. We usually tent camp but for rookie pop-up campers (no really knowing what to expect otherwise) we couldn’t be happier! Also, free WiFi was kinda sketchy farther from main office but great at closer campsites.

Stayed here 11/18/19 to 11/23/19. After checking in, a staff member led me in a golf cart out to my site and then helped me get squared away in the site, which was really nice. Savannah Oaks is setup like many other RV parks where you are pretty close to your neighbors and there isn't a ton of privacy. However, I enjoyed my stay here much more than I typically do at RV parks. They had every kind of amenity you could want, and their staff and the other campers here were very friendly. I really liked that they had a gas station/convenience store right on premise. Their laundry facility had 7 or 8 washing machines and 6 dryers (including two huge commercials ones) and a pool table and arcade games to play while you waited. The bathrooms were very clean and nice and they also had a pool and workout room which I never got a chance to check out. Another big plus for me was that the WiFi worked really well on my laptop (phone not so much for some reason). I was able to work off of it and watch youtube videos no problem.
I think my favorite thing here was the kayak rental. The park is right on the Ogeechee River, so you can rent a kayak from the office (I paid $15 for 4 hours) and go out on the river. It was absolutely beautiful.
The location here is also great. I noticed Savannah traffic could be really bad around rush hour, but typically it only took about 15-20 minutes to get places. Also be sure to check out Black Rifle Coffee just down the street (in the same building as Nine Line apparel) if you like coffee!
I only have a couple negative things to say about Savannah Oaks. First the electric hookups seemed a little janky. The 30amp plug didn't have a breaker on it or even any kind of cover. It was just an exposed outlet. Mine was actually in good shape, but I thought that was kind of odd. The only other thing is that it could be noisy at times. It's right on the highway so you pick up all the traffic noise. And oddly enough, there were a lot of explosion sounds while I was here too. At my last campsite in Columbia, SC I wrote about there being explosions all the time and I figured out it was because the campground was next to Fort Jackson. Well it turns out that Savannah Oaks is also right next to a fort (Fort Stewart), and they were doing mortar drills the entire time I was there. So more explosions... and these actually went for 24 hours, including all through the night. I was told that they only sometimes do this kind of training, so it was just bad luck that I was there while they were doing it, but it's still something I wanted to mention. Other than these two small complaints, everything was great at this RV park.

While I am sure others had a great experience, mine was not. Mostly due to flooding into my campsite that forced us to leave after one day. While we got a full refund and that is appreciated, coming home after a day of site seeing in Savannah at 8:00 PM to find your rig almost in a foot of sewage filled, snake filled, gator filled water is concerning.
As I said that evening, A simple phone call goes a long way...we got nothing and would have rushed back to move to high ground.
Telling me not to worry about the moat around my rig was also not a good idea. "The water will recede" also not true as more rain was in the forecast. I just hope the seasonal people across from us got out of there...they were absolutely great and moved across the street (only a foot higher).

We had a site in the way back by the lake. Our site looked to be the largest and would be more like an island. We checked in and were escorted back to our site. Huge trees on all sides that made for excellent shade and kept the temps down inside our bus. We did have rain, no flood risk though. We appreciated that the trash was dealt with every day by employees. The park seemed well maintained and litter free.

I would normally give Savannah Oaks a 5 star rating. The spots are nice and big and the whole park is shaded by lots of trees, many are lovely live oaks. However, for all 3 days of our visit, we were annoyed by the constant BEEP BEEP BEEP of a cherry picker and the sound of a chainsaw trimming said lovely trees. I was also disturbed by how high they were trimming the trees, removing much appreciated shade. More than needed for the big RVs to get by. We visited in May and campground is 60ish% full. Couldn't they have trimmed trees when the park was less crowded and spoiled fewer campers stays? Or couldn't the constant BEEP BEEP BEEP issue have been addressed? Water pressure was abysmal and we ended up filling our fresh water tank vs. using city water. Worked, but so you know.
The campground is located south of Savannah and provides a nice remote location from which to visit. The wi-fi was good. Didn't use any of the shower houses. There's a nice playground for the kids, a pool, and several dog parks. The place is gated providing a sense of security. There's a gas station / convenience store at the entrance to the campground which is handy.

Not kid friendly and not maintained very well. Perhaps if you are overnighting or didn’t care about anything else, this would be the place for you.

We were pretty impressed despite the bad reviews all ove the internet about this place. Clean refreshing pool and beautiful woodsy atmosphere. Nice play area for children and fenced area for your dogs to roam for a bit. Very friendly staff and campers. I would definitely recommend it to others. Close to Savannah and easy access. Found it on https://www.visitsavannah.com/camping-rv-parks will be back!!
