We made a reservation online(mistake). If I could give less than 1 star I would. We drove 10 to get there, and I called to say we would be there about 6:30. They said fine grab your map by the office. The problem started when we arrived. First the place is very poorly lit, I could see better with a match. When we found what we thought was our spot, along comes the golf cart ass hat. We asked him clarify the numbers, and he comes back with why are you asking that. My wife said we have a reservation and we want to make sure we had the right spot. Then golf cart ass hat says I don't like your attitude you can leave. At which point we both got attitude, and wanted our refund. Of course he refused. At that point my called the police, to which we found out they've had many problems with him before. So pretty much this place sucks. Don't waste your time. On a positive note, the police were nice and helpful. So now we are at hotel with out camper. Awesome

The guy was kind of rude when we showed up. We checked in after office hours and knocked (We called a few hours before to confirm that this was fine) and the man asked what time zone we were from "because our sign says we're closed". We tent camped, was pretty deserted late July 2014.

Worst place to stay!! Depending on what kind of day you find the manager Chris in, he’s either drunk , stoned or in a terrible moody!! He always complained about something, has a bad attitude toward everyone. There was always something breaking in the park or getting plugged up and backed up. I’m surprised Good Sam and AAA allows him to use their name. They need to do a surprise visit and see the service he is giving., listen to him yell. Even heard he was a convicted felon. I wouldn’t trust him running a camp ground and carries a gun. Keep going down the road !

Avoid unless you have no other choice. Note: the campground itself isn't bad. The owner even converted one site into a fenced dog play area, which shows care for customer amenities. Price was great and location, convenient. However, within moments of arriving he also implied I was dangerous and/or stupid for wearing a mask (he did not at any point of my check in wear one) and yelled at me coming in when he was with another customer (I believe this was an attempt to adhere to COVID restrictions, but he had nothing posted and his tone was out of line.) A few minutes later he came out to help another customer and conversed with him loudly about how "certain people" just needed to be "f'ing killed." During check in, while relaying park and site information, he was rude and obnoxious. It could have been an attempt at sarcasm, but didn't feel like it. I tried calling other area parks but at that point in the day no one else had availability. Didn't feel like giving this guy my business but like I said, the park itself is fine. Does for a nightly stop.

We checked in after hours and left before the office opened. I don't think Chris was rude. I spoke with him on the phone. I think he is direct and to the point. If you follow his direction and don't need fluffed, he is fine. This park was fine for a quick stop. Not a park I would hang at for a few days. It served its purpose for us.

After driving through Santa Rosa, I think this is probably the nicest RV park in town. There is a gift shop and bbq restaurant on site. When checking in, the owner said he couldn't justify putting us in the long pull through that had been reserved and so we had to wait while he figured out how to change it. We ended up in a shorter spot that was tight with the car. There seemed to be a lot of overnights the two nights we were there, but the park was mostly empty, so I don't know why we couldn't have had the original spot or even one with no neighbors. The spots are a little tight and we chose not to put out our slide on the patio side, so we could have more space for a patio area.

Santa Rosa is a small town, so it's convenient as it's in town on Route 66. We were there for the Blue Hole and it's worth stopping by even if you're not diving. We did see some people swimming, but the water is in the low 60s.

The owner did honor our escapees discount even though he isn't part of the program anymore since we had seen it on the website.

We stayed here for four nights in November. We're traveling in a 34' widebody MH with no slides. Easy access off I-40. Gentleman that checked us in was very nice - Matthew. This is a nice, family owned campground. You do have to go down a hill after checking in at the office, so we saw some people unhooking their toad. There is plenty of space up top to unhook, but we didn't need to. Our site was level and hardpacked gravel. There are picnic tables at each site. 50amp was solid. Good water pressure. Laundry facility was clean. The park was very quiet. The pool looked nice, but we did not partake as the weather was not conducive to swimming while we stayed there. During our four nights, we did see many people stop in for just one night. The campground would fill up by 6pm every night and empty out by 11am each day. Nice bonus for weary travelers is the on premise restaurant that would deliver right to your site, or you could choose to dine in. We did dine in on our last night and it was very good. Things to do in Santa Rosa: The Blue Hole, dine at one of the historic restaurants in town, Route 66 Auto Museum, and Santa Rosa Lake State Park was beautiful. Of the two campgrounds located in Santa Rosa, this is definitely the campground to stay in. I would stay here again.
