BBQ Grills, Beach Access, Benches or Picnic Tables, Bird Watching, Equestrian Trails, Fishing, Restaurant or Snacks, Restrooms, Surfing, Swimming. Arroyo Burro Beach County Park is located 5 miles west of Santa Barbara's city center on Cliff Drive near Hope Ranch. From Highway 101 take Las Positas Road south to Cliff Drive. NEVER GO THERE! This beach is crude-oil contaminated! After a pipeline spill in 2015, this beach is still covered in crude, sticky black tar in Aug 2016! Lifeguards said, it is a natural phenomenon that oil surfaces on the beach. Haha. Hilarious lie, but not nice explanation.
