“located in Colorado's oldest town”
The Stations of the Cross are a series of bronze statues that depict the last hours of Christ’s life—his judgment, sufferings, and death. Each station shows a different scene and is accompanied by a plaque with several Bible Scriptures. Each plaque also asks for special prayer requests, most are for the families that donated that station.
The GPS had a hard time finding the place so we wound up driving through some crazy off-road trails, but it was an adventure. We really wanted to get there as the sun came up and we did. My family walked it but it’s not at all accessible so all I could do was watch. That was disappointing because I had really been looking forward to it.
The church is beautiful. It’s a lovely setting. It’s a beautiful climb and I would definitely recommend for any Catholic. It didn’t have the same meaning for my Protestant friends. Just know if you have any mobility issues, you aren’t going far.
