Experience the rich cultural tradition that celebrates the preparation, serving and drinking of powdered green tea or matcha. Your host, attired in kimono and trained in the omotosenkestyle of tea ceremony, will demonstrate how to clean special utensils and present the matcha, as well as how to receive and drink tea in keeping with ancient Japanese customs.
This place is absolutely beautiful, the gift store is a gift itself and I would love to go here again. We arrived at 9am when they opened and we weren’t charged entry fees. We were the first ones to be severed at their little tea store. Turns out when we were walking out they were going to start charging people which was at around 10:00am
Amazing gardens and atmosphere. Get there early for free street parking. If not you can park in two large garages but the cost is about $25 for the day. The Japanese Gardens were so beautiful and the gift shop was very reasonably priced.
