“Honoring the legacy of the Basque Hotel”
San Francisco's adventure seekers and revelers alike have haunted these walls on Romolo Place for over a century. Our building has been home to speakeasies, brothels, and most famously, The Basque Hotel. The Basque Hotel and Restaurant served family-style meals at an incredible value to boarders and neighbors for decades. 15 years ago San Francisco rediscovered this hall as its newest incarnation: 15 Romolo. Partners Jon Gasparini and Greg Lindgren opened the doors in June of 1998 and developed a reputation for entertaining which has launched two other successful bars, Rye and Rosewood, as well as San Francisco's premier beverage catering company, Rye on the Road. In 2008, Aaron Gregory Smith, a longtime employee from Rye, joined the team as Operating Partner. We take pride in honoring the legacy of The Basque Hotel tradition of local dining hall and watering hole. We believe in having a good time while doing what we love, and we do love what we do. Our tightly knit crew is always ready to jump into action, providing friendly, attentive service for any occasion. We feel that every guest who ventures through our doors is entitled to receive engaged service of quality menu in a warm, inviting atmosphere, and we are dedicated to providing that experience for you each and every time you join us.
