“San Angelos KOA”
This historic spot between the Hill Country and the rolling plains started as a military outpost, Fort Concho, to protect the settlers as they moved West after the Civil War. The lawless town of "Santa Angela" cropped up across the river. Today's contemporary attractions include boating and water sports on Lake Nasworthy (less than a mile from the KOA), the planetarium at Angelo State University and the beautiful river walk through town. Shop for antiques, visit museums and play golf. Then relax at KOA's 10-acre campground covered with native mesquite trees. Enjoy Wi-Fi, cable TV in the game room, barbecue pits and a 1,200-square-foot covered picnic area that can be reserved for group use. Pool: June 1 - October 1. Max pull thru: 70 feet.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 27, 2022We stayed here for 3 days while attending an Art Festival. Very impressed with the park! It's all grave, very level spots and VERY clean. The Wi-Fi was excellent and we had good satellite reception. The staff was also super friendly and so is the town for that matter. The park also has a nice fenced in dog run.

We stayed one night while passing through from Austin to New Mexico. There aren’t a lot of options in San Angelo, but it was a fine place to stay for a night. The grounds were well kept with a playground and pool. There was also a little fenced in area for dogs that was big enough for the pups to play.
We arrived after the office closed, but all the information was waiting for us. Sites were pretty cramped, though we didn’t have any one to either side of us. WiFi worked well on my husband’s phone and my computer but wouldn’t connect on my phone for some reason.
Overall, a decent and quiet stay.

Convenient to Hwy 306, and San Angelo attractions. Next to a popular jogging trail. Campground is all gravel, relatively level, and has a few trees. Appears to be well maintained. Cable, WIFI and a nice pool. As typical to most campgrounds, long term back-in sites the rear - short term pull-thru sites in the front. No problem maneuvering with our 36' 5th wheel. Site was level, length was adequate, spacing was typical (a little tight). No problems with utilities. Overall a good stay - no muss, no fuss. Would return.

We stayed for one night on our journey home. We got to enjoy the pool and dog park, but the people who worked there were so great. Very nice people, very clean and well kept.

When all of the county parks, and the state park, were closed for COVID, this place was a life saver. Pandemics aside, this is exactly what an RV Park should be. The price (I had water & electric only) was like the average American’s blood pressure...yeah it could be lower but let’s just say it’s fine and move on.
The sites aren’t terribly close together, but hey it’s an RV Park. Mesquite trees dot the place, and if you’re in a small rig they may provide some cover. Looks like during less sickly times there’s a clubhouse in an Airstream. San Angelo has a lake, maybe 1 mile max from the KOA and also a river walk. Were the state park open, no doubt that’s the #1 choice in town but friendly staff, very clean grounds and bathroom and the people watching here make this a fine alternative. The night I stayed there were all types of people, multi-generational families to couples to friends hanging out to lonely ol’ me.
Restored my faith in the KOA, to be honest.

We ended up having to stay here on accident. Our other plans didn’t work out. Turned out to be a great choice. We did a night checkin and the lady I spoke to on the phone was very nice.
The pull through sites in the back are the way to go. Very nice and spacious between RVs. Hookups and stuff is also nice and clean and orderly.
If I had to nitpick....
I could hear a little road noise and some noise from the local airport.

Would definitely stay here again. Very clean. Very friendly staff. Almost full cell signal on AT&T, bounced between 3-4 bars. Sone road noise, not awful.

We stopped overnight and had a pleasant stay. The only detractor is the park is located below the airports landing patth. Due to this there were a large amount of plane noise sporadically during the night.

The first site given was at the front where everyone comes in & out right by the site. We politely requested to be moved if possible. After much hemming & hawing and acting like there was little or no availability we were moved. There had to be 25 to 30 obviously available sites....so what the heck was that all about? Maybe there was some problem with electrical? If so...why not say so. Bath & shower facilities were good.
