“don't go chasin' waterfalls”
Pearson’s Falls and Glen is a top natural attraction in Polk County, NC, hosting over 20,000 visitors each year. We are located in the foothills of Western North Carolina off Hwy. 176, between the towns of Tryon and Saluda. This unique botanical preserve is comprised of 268 acres of rich cove forest, granite, spring-fed streams, and a moderate 1/4 mile trail to a 90 ft. waterfall. We boast having over 200 species of rare wildflowers and plants. Mosses, lichens, shrubs, and a variety of trees reside in this Glen, which is classified as a deciduous climax forest. Pearson’s Falls is a perfect stop when visiting the area. We have picnic facilities and can accommodate all types of groups and cyclists.
Great 1-1.5hr stop along our way from Savannah GA to Gatlinburg TN. Waterfall was larger than I anticipated and my kids (5, 6, 8) loved it! Clean bathrooms!
Dogs not allowed
Beautiful little spot to stop for some pictures and have a picnic. I thought it was odd there was a charge to get in but I guess for the upkeep it makes sense. The man at the gate was very pleasant and helpful. Nice for a 2 hour ordeal.
We made a 3 day trip out of driving from Central Florida to North Carolina for a wedding and looked a few quick pit stops on the way back. This fit the bill. For $5 a person, safe parking, a glorified portapotty, and a quarter mile walk, you have a beautiful stop. There are great places to sit and have a picnic. No pets except service animals are allowed.
We just drove there and it was closed. A sign on the locked gate said Trail Damage Do Not Enter. No telling when it will reopen. Unfortunately no signage until we drove all the way there. July 19, 2020.
Absolutely beautiful and so worth the hike. It does have a cost of $5 per person over 6 years of age. I had no problem with the cost because you do get to experience nature and history all in one!
It was a convenient location, beautiful drive and scenery. $5 Entry
We were nearby for a wedding and this was a great side trip. The bride and groom took their wedding photos here too-- lovely falls.
Closed in January :(((
This was amazing and well worth a stop if you love beautiful nature. Bug spray is not a bad idea.
