Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on January 26, 2023Enroute from Northern Gila County Arizona, to San Diego, we were looking for an overnight stop, about halfway. Which put us right in the middle of SnowBird heaven, right in the middle of March! We opted for a reserved space, with hookups, because we thought it would be pretty crowded in the Quartzsite area, and without solar power, yet, were wary of what the temperature swings would be.
Brenda is not really a town, just 3 huge RV resorts, in the middle of nowhere, in the desert. For those of you hauling Off Road Vehicles, it's a perfect location, as there are miles and miles of desert trails right outside the gate for you to explore. For those of us without, it was a bit of a bother, until dark, when all (most all) of the ATVs were finally parked and shut off. The we just relaxed to a chorus of beer-can pop-tops as our neighbors prepared for another day of raisin' dust.
Speaking of dust - there is none, even with all the OHVs. The park's streets are paved, and the sites are level gravel with a concrete pad. The short-term spaces are fairly close together, but pull-throughs, so not a problem for even good-sized rigs. Just watch out for the palm tree in front of each site, as you pull out. Can be a little tight making the turn with a big 5er.
Did I mention there are a lot of ATVs?
Big RV parks are not the favorite destination for us, but if you're just passing thru, and need a secure, clean, convenient place to over-night for 30 bucks, this place will do the trick.

Brenda is a widespot in the road -- US Hiway 60, to be exact -- that is home to three large snowbird RV resorts. And little else. If you are from Canada, it is a destination for you, close to Quartzsite, but not as hectic, with wonderfully warm winter weather. If you live in Northern Gila County, Arizona, it is a convenient place to overnight on your way to San Diego.
So, in March of 2016, we did exactly that, on our way to a two-yr-old grandson's birthday party in America's Finest City. (who decided that slogan, anyway?) Because it was toward the end of the snowbird season, we made reservations ahead, but they do keep openings for drop-ins. As is typical for a large RV/Mobile Home park, the overnight area looks like an RV sales lot, with vehicles lined up side by side. Trees? Not for miles! But plenty of dead-level asphalt that makes for easy parking, and water, electric, and sewer conveniently located every 15 feet.
And, did I mention ATVs? Oh, yeah, I've never seen (or heard) so many off-road vehicles in one square mile as in Brenda. Apparently there are many hundreds of miles of off-road trails and roads, right outside the park. So, naturally, there is a lot of ATV traffic at Desert Gold. Til well past quiet hours. But, they advertise themselves as ATV-friendly, so you really can't expect any different. Just be aware - if you're looking for a quiet evening in the desert, this may not be your destination.
The park is clean and relatively orderly, service from the staff was very efficient and friendly, and access and parking was easy-peasy.
So grab your ATV, saddle up, and go to Brenda to ride the hills!

We arrived on a Friday late morning. Front desk easy check in! we were escorted to our site and assisted with the pull thru parking on all gravel (level). They each have a cement patio, with picnic tables. While we were unpacking a greeter came by on his bike to invite us to the clubhouse for soup and a sandwich a meet and greet. Great turn out very friendly residents most there for a week to a month. Lots of activities from cards, to library, to their own postoffice and nice pool. Laundry facilities large for the park. Wifi spotty did not work in rig most of the time "due to wind". Library in clubhouse was a free hotspot, no community computer to use.
Mode of transportation, golf cart or RZR's. (a bit noisy, but its the desert). Car wash facilities available for rig and truck, even the Schwann truck came thru and he got lots of business.. Trash out on curb by 9:00am and they have a pick up daily. Music venues, bingo nite, ice cream social........
Small store close for essentials , grocery shop before you go
We will go back we met some lovely people there, and the facility is well kept up.

You can stay here for $1,145 For six months which is only about 7 dollars a night. The streets are paved so you don’t get dust in your camper every time people drive by. The campsites are very roomy and nearly everyone has a palm tree. There are tons of atv trails Leading straight out from the park. Petroglyphs are a short drive away. Garbage is picked up daily and propane twice a week right from your site. All you have to do is place it by the road. There is bingo once a week and several other things that go on as well as church every Sunday. All in all it’s a great place to winter over.
It’s a short drive to quartzsite Maybe about 15 minutes. But a small grocery store is within a mile of the campground. On Thursday and Friday there is a little farmers market between the campground and the grocery store. It’s nice to have easy access to fresh vegetables without driving to Quartzsite. Lots to do in the winter.

This is one of three large RV parks in the town (???) of Brenda. Large number of permanent homes as well as RV sites, with most being seasonal. Paved streets throughout the park with gravel sites. Our pull-thru site was plenty long but the sites next to us were fairly close but typical for a larger park. A small concrete patio & picnic table is at each site. Valet trash is provided each morning & valet propane a couple of times per week.
The park is attractive and has a number of amenities. The biggest complaint is noise within the park. A strong majority of the seasonal residents own some type of ATV. While the speed limit was being obeyed they are not a quiet vehicle. The noise from the highway is minimal as the majority of the sites are far enough away & the park sits in a reduced speed zone.

Extremely organized and clean park. Endless number of activities and amenities but previous posters have listed all. I even had a document notarized by a resident for $5. Extensive library for use, donation/trade. Hot tub was huge and we enjoyed every night. There’s a restaurant across the road at another park but other than that no provisions nearby. We had researched this and came well stocked. That is our biggest complaint - no resources nearby.

The park was easy to find. It is located about 16 miles (26Km) east of Quartzsite on highway 60. There is pavement all the way. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic but be aware, they are strictly enforced, inc the 10 MPH speed limit.. The interior roads are very wide, paved and in fairly good condition.
Our site, B46, was a gravel based pull through that was plenty long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30/50 amp, water, sewer and cable) were to the left side. Distancing is good for a rural park. Some sites had a vegetation privacy barrier. Each site has a table but NO fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was a very well manicured oasis. The natural vegetation has been complemented by adding more native plants including Saguaro and other cacti species. It is like living in a desert garden.
There is park included wifi but we did not use it. Our hotspot worked well. There were plenty cable TV channels available. We did not search for any OTA channels. Satellite will not be difficult. The washrooms and free showers were clean and modern.
There are off road trails leading from the park that branch off to many varied destinations. Ammenities such as bingo, karaoke, cards (inc poker), billiards tables, exercise equipment, a difficult mini golf plus a pool and hot tub. Other craft venues are available as well. A very large and well attended dog park is available complete with “yappy hours” where owners and their dogs gather to play and enjoy the company. We found the permanents, long term and short term guests to be very friendly and helpful.
There is a restaurant and small grocery store within easy walking distance. A short drive to Quartzsite brings you to more shopping. Big Box shopping is about an hour away in Parker.
We found this park to be one of the best parks we have veer been to. We paid a monthly rate of $625.00 plus electricity. Nightly and weekly rates are available as well. We feel we received very good value. We will be back if in the area again.
