“serving your whole family”
Hand-Pattied Burgers, Chicken, Steaks & Fish, Salads & Pasta, Martinis, 27 Degree Draft Beers, Frozen Drinks, Full Bar. A dining experience that will leave all 5 senses satisfied…6 if you count your wallet! As legend has it, in 1867 an ambitious Harvey Potter, after having failed at every short-cut to success, opened a small pub on the outskirts of London. His menu was scant because he had no real talent for cooking nor much imagination. His pub, named Harvey’s, barely got by serving fish & chips and room temperature beer. While the food was passable, it was his curvy flirtatious wife who drew a steady crowd. The menu was expanded, the little pub thrived and soon their middle son James (Jim), having learned the business firsthand, took a steamer to America. He settled in Bedford Falls, New York where he opened the second Harvey’s pub and grille, offering burgers and much colder beer. Jim had a knack for business and diversified into real estate and banking. During the “Great Depression” he owned nearly everything in town except for a building and loan company. He would have claimed that also if not for his rival George Bailey (the richest man on earth). However, despite all Jim’s success, his first love was and always would be his little grille and bar. Jim’s son Lionel, from his sixth wife Katherine (Jim never could keep a woman) later took over Harvey’s and soon the small grille and bar was popping up throughout the Northeast. Jim’s other son Harry Potter went on to fame of his own, but we digress. Lionel married Sarah who bore a son Nelson. Nelson’s son Joshia Harvey Potter (notorious for his ability to consume massive amounts of corn liquor) made his way to the Midwest. He and his wife Eileen (a woman of questionable morals) lived in seclusion in the UP in a backwoods spot where only the most lost varmints exist. It was there that Nelson perfected the Harvey’s menu. His son Brent Harvey has only recently emerged from seclusion to bring the family recipes to the good people of the Tri Cities. Harvey’s is now here to serve you, our new family.
