“A town with real, and fictional significance”
Rumford is a town in Oxford County, Maine, United States. The population was 5,841 at the 2010 census. Rumford is home to both an important paper industry and the Black Mountain of Maine ski resort. Furthermore, if you are a fan of American Author, Stephen King, the town of Rumford happens to be the closest approximation of the fictional Motton and Chester's Mill. Both of these towns figure in to many of King's works. Perhaps most notably, the works "Carrie" and "Under the Dome."
