“exuding the ambience &charm of a boating paradise”
Within walking distance to the main town of Rock Hall and just next door to the resort amenities of Haven Harbour Marina, the High Tide Inn exudes the ambient charm of a boating paradise. Recently opened by Haven Harbour Marina, the inn offers a soothing retreat for those cruising on the bay, enjoying the charm of Rock Hall or touring historic Kent County. The High Tide Inn contains an fascinating history which dates back to the 1930's when it was originally constructed. Interestingly, the property was built using much of the wood debris which had accumulated onshore as a result of the great Susquehanna River of 1936. The river rose a dramatic 6 feet during the course of the flood which caused catastrophic damage and in the region and, in turn, managed to fill the Chesapeake waters with tons of wreckage. Locals, such as the Buckleys in this case, took advantage of this wreckage as the timber proved very suitable for construction material. In point of fact, a large keel of an old log canoe which washed ashore was used in the actual foundation of the building.
