“Home of the Fried Dill Pickle”
Hollywood Cafe is where the deep-fried pickle was born. Fried in beer batter with cayenne pepper and chili powder, the deep-fried dill pickle has been making folks flock to Hollywood Cafe since the 1970s.
This place was great. It was down home southern atmosphere and cuisine. I had green fried tomatoes, a sampler plate which had ribs, catfish, shrimp, coleslaw and turnip greens (You can select two sides). I washed down with Corona beer. My friend Connie had the ribs with fried squash and okra. She had a Long Island iced tea. We took a piece of lemon cake and pecan pie to go. Our waitress Annie was extremely helpful and sweet. I would return again in a heartbeat. Too bad I live clear across the country. The price is a little higher than e expected but the food was soooo good.
I can't wait to come back and get a BLT w/ a fried green tomata! W/ sweet tea and fried pickles! & I need a new t-shirt!!!
