“Natural beauty in Ridgefield”

Paradise Point State Park is an 88-acre camping park with 6,180 feet of freshwater shoreline, immediately east of the interstate. Named for its original peacefulness, the park has lost some of its reputation for quiet since the freeway went in. Still, the area possesses great natural beauty, and the noise of I-5 can be avoided by using the woodland campsites.

We stayed here pretty much out of necessity. We were hoping for a $12 tent site but apparently they closed all those for the winter, so we had to pay $20, which was the next cheapest. Sites are $20 for no hookups, $30 with hookups, $40 for a Yurt.
All the sites are VERY close to each other, so much so that there is no hope for privacy in any way.
You are also only a few hundred yards from I-5 and it's very noisy. You can hear it all night, and you can even see the highway from every part of the campground.
The camp host was very friendly but he didn't do anything to enforce the quiet times. We had three very loud motorcycles leave the park at 2am, after sitting with them idling for almost 20 minutes. The campground host was sitting at his fire this whole time.
The good is that they have pay showers and clean bathrooms. The showers say 50 cents for 3 minutes but I put in $1 and the shower ran for at least 20 minutes.

We stayed at two different sites we payed 35 for electrical and water which was well worth it, it was right by the freeway but that noise helped us sleep better, the bathrooms were clean and not separated by gender which makes it a lot easier when you have kids and need a clean space. The other site we stayed was primitive which was beautiful but not quiet it’s more like the party spot since the rangers don’t really patrol at night. But still they were really nice and welcoming and ready to help you with any problem. The host don’t really clean very good cuz we saw 2 week old Chinese food boxes everywhere and toilet paper in some of the areas. If they would have cleaned and checked the primitive camping area better it would have been perfect.

The first loop with the lower numbered sites looked OK, but we were staying in the second loop in space 56. Upon entering the second loop there was a family flying the Confederate flag, which set the tone. As we went deeper into the loop the sites got closer together. So close that the fire ring smoke from the adjoining space almost smoked us out. No kidding...the next site's fire ring was less than ten paces from our camper. To add insult to injury the bathrooms were behind our spot and the only way to get in was through our campsite. After the third 250 pound guy walking through with nothing on but shorts with his butt
crack hanging out we just climbed into the camper....after locking up our stuff.

We had a grate weekend. We meet up with friends (that live outside our area) and the kids had a great time! nice river access and short dive to Mt. St. Helen's.

Arrival was easy. turn in/out of the dump site was tight but otherwise access (for our 29ft. rig) was fine.

Site was spacious with lost of extra room for the kids to play.

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were visiting family in the Vancouver and the CG is only about 20 minutes away. The CG is clean and well cared for, but as mentioned previously, most of the water/electric sites are only about 100 yards from I-5 and there is a lot of road noise, day and night, even our white noise machine could not overcome the road noise. The addition of a sound barrier wall along the highway the length of the campground would mitigate the noise considerably. We did not however, as previously noted, see any homeless people in the CG and the sites were clean. The sites were not completely level, but we’ve been many that were much worse. AT&T coverage good, ranging from 2-3 Bars of LTE/5G with speeds up to 6 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on some of the satellites at our site. There were 14 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

This is the closest campground to an interstate I've ever experienced, and the noise on an interstate freeway never takes a break. This Washington State park is within 200 feet from I-5. I've stayed at RV parks near a secondary highway before, but never an interstate. Never again.
There is no "Paradise Point" either. That was a bend in a river over a hundred years ago, and its still there for you to enjoy. It is directly beneath the 2 separate direction I-5 bridges. Please consider any other option than this place.

It is very loud next to the interstate and you don’t really get that campground feeling here. The spots are jive enough and the campground folks were quiet, but the noise is crazy loud from the interstate.
