“a journey through time”
A journey through time begins as you work you way down the Southern Maryland peninsula. As you pass St. Mary’s College and the ancient archeological sites of Historic St. Mary’s City the vista changes. You are in the country; beautiful farmland that is surrounded by the Chesapeake watershed, land that is home to the early colonial history of America. A short drive further and you are at Woodlawn, a late 18th Century manor. The approach through the fields and woodland of this 180-acre estate offers views of the manor house and Potomac River virtually unchanged since the days of the original owners. The National Trust for Historic Preservation named Woodlawn its 1990 Grand Prize Winner of the “Great American Home Awards”. Our goal is to provide the highest standard of lodging, recreation and event management. The measure of our success in meeting this goal relies on tirelessly making sure that every detail is executed to perfection. More importantly, we want you to feel welcome and ‘at home’. At the conclusion of your stay with us we hope you take with you priceless memories and the desire to visit us again soon.
