Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on October 11, 2018The campground is nice and off the beaten path. Our side was fairly level, we needed to raise one side about 2 inches. Most sites seemed level with the exception of 1 that I noticed. The loudest thing around was the mooing of the local cows! The campground could use some capital improvement. We had no running water for some reason and our spot was all grass which was tricky when trying to get leveled. All in all is was a nice spot and I would go back if in the area again.

Smack in the middle of rural farm country, this KOA is well maintained with a friendly staff. The site looked unlevel when we pulled in but turned out to be smack dab perfect side to side. The vistas around the campground are lovely and the proximity to Cooperstown and all the local things to do is a plus. Nice and quiet at night. The wifi is strong and fast.

Stayed here in late-Aug 2021. Catching up on reviews.
THE GOOD
Staff: Nice staff.
Location: The area is in peaceful farm country, which is typically our preference.
Really quiet family campground.
Store: Has a nice store on site for essentials.
Site: Long gravel sites suitable for large rigs with extra items in-tow. Living space are nicely shaded with grass.
COULD BE BETTER:
Sites: Had a pull-through site which was slightly tighter than many. Even though pull-throughs are always more packed together, it was still tighter than most. The hookups from neighboring sites really reach into your site's living space, which is why it feels so tight.
WORTH NOTING (not good or bad thing)
Location: Is actually located in Richfield Springs. Not Cooperstown. KOA names their locations like this regularly.
Staff: They were indeed VERY nice but did comment that "you don't need that mask around here." I always think it is helpful to understand the potential of a politically inspired vibe when we experience it because it can impact how comfortable you feel.
Amenities: We were only there for a night traveling across upstate NY, so didn't use the amenities.
Cell: I cannot recall the connectivity b/c it was a year ago.

This campground is your typical KOA in a pastoral setting. Being off the beaten track, and not actually in Cooperstown, it is very quiet except for the herd of cows across the street. Sites are decently sized, fairly level, and have good views of the surrounding hills. The WiFi is very good -- modern and surprising speeds (60Mbps) and cell phone for AT&T was decent. Staff is friendly and the store had the essentials. It's about 20 minutes from Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame so, naturally, there is a baseball theme. One annoyance is the water pressure seemed to drop on occasion and one night was low for quite a while due to the pool being filled. We had to wait to do dishes until the next morning (not a tragedy). However, we did get a few hours warning via text message, which was nice.
You can't park any vehicle over 20' in Cooperstown, but you can park for free (even a motorhome) in the Yellow Lot and take the Trolley into town for $2.50. Super convenient!

Nice campground stayed in October, very quiet nice would recommend staying
Everything you expect from a KOA. They parked us on the west end with the sunset overlooking the pastures. Made friends with the neighbors. Partied all night, the rest is history.
We plan to come back for the obvious Baseball-hall-of-fame-road-trip.
This was a really nice and quiet campground. There was lots of grassy areas for the puppies to run around. They loved it. Very quiet. The hosts were nice. We did not use the pool but there was one there. We would stay again.
