Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on January 23, 2018Campground is nice with good sized lots. Bathrooms/showers pretty gross. Showers cost $1 for 5mins (quarters only), oh, and btw, they won’t make change for you. Where do all the quarters they collect go??
Staff not to friendly.
Sites are basically on top of each other, and not very clean. Quite hours as far as I can tell are not enforced in any way, could hear people arguing and teens screaming way after quiet hours. They don't allow in any outside firewood, and charge $6 a bundle for basically one huge slab of wood and shingles that are damp. Bathrooms are gross, and some are broken. The only thing it has going it for it is its location.
Very organized at entry. 24 hour attendants. Got a good spot near the water.
We go to Burlingame often, and we always love it! The park is huge, with 700 sites, and they are all different!
No hook ups, but tents and RVs are allowed.
Has dumping station, water and bathrooms w/showers.
The only thing I don't like is that you MUST buy firewood in the park.
Otherwise, feel free to check out our blog post for our complete thoughts!
I love the swimming at Watchaug Pond!

This park is huge! There are close to 800 sites!
That being said, we got lucky with ours. Not all sites will accommodate RVs. And even the ones that will are not all level, etc.
Our particular site was swarming with mosquitos so we spent very little time outside of our trailer. This was a big bummer because the site was so beautiful and spaced away from the sites next to us.
We did enjoy walking the rest of the campground and letting the dogs swim in the lake. As of this posting, they had tested the water and it was still safe for swimming.
The location was great for getting to the rhode island coast and also taking the ferry to block island which we HIGHLY recommend!
There are no hookups here. Showers are quarter fed.
Cell service was excellent. No booster needed.
Staff was very friendly.
Alcohol is completely banned.

We like Burlingame and have stayed here before while tent camping. They had a mix up when checking us in and thought my mother's address was ours, so we got the newly increased resident rate ($18), when we went back to extend our stay they said we were non-residents and started to charge us $36, which didn't seem like a reasonable price to us so we only stayed one more night.
It is a large campground, located conveniently close to lots of beaches (we went to East Beach to watch the sunrise and then Napatree Point to watch it set, both have free parking lots (East Beach's is small). It has some fun amenities like an on-site naturalist, who hosts a bunch of activities for children, and is just a short hike away from Kettle Pond Visitor's Center. It has a few great hikes, playground, valley ball court and arcade. It also has a dumping station, lots of water spigots, pretty clean porto-potties (except during the weekend when it's very busy) and warm showers (for 75 cents for 3 minutes), flushing toilets in multiple locations.
Our site was right on a main road, which we didn't like. Sites in the low 400's and 500's seemed nice. Some sites have lake views and others are more forested. We come from Vermont where you can get super private sites, so we thought the privacy was pretty slim but ok. The staff were ok. Not super helpful. We overheard one staffer saying they had close most of the lake due to contamination but not the camp swimming part. After that we didn't swim there or bring our dog there for a dip.

We stayed in the 700's section. There's no hookups, but the sites are very large. Plenty of sites that fit our large 40' Toy Hauler, but there are some tight turns into some of the sites. Hardly any people during the week at this site, so it was very quiet. Even on the weekends it was only at 1/4 capacity at most. Very shaded in the section we stayed so it was not ideal for solar. Did see other sections that looked like it was more wide open. We've stayed at this park several times and would keep coming. Verizon wasn't great in this area during certain times of the day. AT&T worked well for us for getting work done and zoom calls.

We visited in early November. Only 1 lady walking her dog was in the park besides a park worker raking leaves. There was no fee to enter. There were a lot of leaves down, which made for a pretty drive. I may return if in the area again.
Some really great trails and hiking in this park! Easy turn offs on the side of the road where you can park and begin a trail!
