“the best camping bargain in town”
Meadowbrook is the best bargain in town for those visiting the Lake Placid Olympic Training venues and the Village of Lake Placid. Located only 4 miles from the center of town, campers have no shortage of activities available to them. The nearby villages offer a variety of restaurants, gift stores, shopping, golf courses, boating, fishing, and various other activities. The campground is near many hiking trails for both the experienced and novice hiker. Also a short distance from the campground is Whiteface Mountain and the Memorial Highway, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding area.

The smell of tall pine trees. Big mountains surrounding you in every direction, from whence you came and to which you'll leave via. Mountain towns that understand the balance a healthy number of tourist shops will provide the accompanying coffee shop and great restaurant, the bars with good local and craft beer, the winding roads between. This park, and this entire area, these Adirondacks, are as close to out west as it comes all the way this far back east.
Great spot if you want to camp nearby Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. It’s not gonna be well secluded or quiet though. There is a business next door that often has trucks backing up (beeping) on weekday mornings. There is also a lobster bake spot in front of the campsite that has live music on weekends. We enjoyed listening to a decent cover band. Don’t buy wood from the lobster bake spot. Both years I did it was sappy and wet and did not burn well. Can find much cheaper higher quality if you take a left Out if the campsite exit and go down the main road.
Also a good restroom and shower facility.

For being close to Lake Placid and the High Peaks this is a nice location. There is an ice cream stand right across the road which was nice treat at night. However, being right off the road is not true "woods" camping. If you are just looking for a place to sleep then this is it, otherwise I wouldn't say it is great for relaxing at your site.
Not all sites are created equal. The sites closest to the road have no to few trees and are close together. The sites on the loops have more privacy and are more "in nature."
There was cell service but data was spotty. It was not consistent enough to allow us to work (email, video meetings) from the campground.

Not an amazing site, but it has what you need.
Close to lake placid, and reasonably priced.
Dump station.
Ok showers.
Sites can be sorta small, so be sure to check the pictures on the ny state website.
Overall decent in-town camping in lake placid.
The road is a little noisy during the day, but silent at night.

$18 for NY State residents, $23 for out of state. We stayed one night, found a relatively quiet and private site. Hard to beat the location at that price. Super friendly staff, dump station, the only negative was no hot water in the men’s showers. Would definitely here again but look closely at the site map before booking as most of the sites are not going to be as quiet and private as ours.
