“Where history and hospitality meet”
We are pleased to welcome you to Lochnaiar Inn. This magnificent three-story home, built in 1915 by a Scottish immigrant and prominent Racine industrialist, has long been considered one of the grandest homes in the Racine historic district. For over ninety years and five owners later the home has kept the name Lochnaiar, from Gaelic, meaning "on the water" and is every bit as grand as ever. Situated on a bluff, overlooking Lake Michigan, this magnificent English Tudor has been restored to its original splendor, inside and out, from the copper clad roof to the old anchor which, mysteriously, found its way onto the front lawn. Lochnaiar Inn is just a short walk from downtown Racine, where you will find an assortment of shops and fine dining. After an evening stroll, along the lake or downtown, you are invited to enjoy a good book or newspaper, by the fire in the library, before retiring to your room. You will enjoy returning to your comfortable room with either a canopied, four-poster bed or sleigh bed, dressed with soft linens, comforter and fluffy pillows. Each room is equipped with cable television VCR or DVD, hair dryer, coffee maker and phone. In the morning, you are invited to join us for a complimentary breakfast, in the Garden room, before embarking on your busy day. For the business traveler or guest wishing to combine business with pleasure, we offer fax machine, wireless Internet access and private meeting rooms, at special corporate rates, on weekdays. We invite you to experience Lochnaiar Inn, where history and hospitality meet.
