Prospect Historic Hotel - Motel and Dinner House

We used the Prospect Hotel as our base for visiting Crater Lake, but ended up really enjoying the surrounding area as well. We were in the main house, and had a nice sized room with an en suite bathroom. Each of the rooms is named after a historic figure from the town, and is decorated in quaint Victorian style. The owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Upon arrival, they provided us with a detailed map of the area, directions for visiting Crater Lake as well as some fun stops along the Rogue River nearby and on the way to Crater Lake. As far as the food goes - you definitely won't leave hungry! Portions for both breakfast (included) and dinner (make a reservation at the desk) are hearty, and the food was very tasty! Its a ways from Crater lake (probably about a 40 minute drive), but was very relaxing and a fun place to stay.

This hotel is absolutely great! It’s peaceful and on a beautiful property. Dinner was awesome as well!

I hate that I have to give only one star b/c our stay was actually very nice. Although the room was nothing more than a cheap motel room the grounds were pretty and we had a lovely breakfast in the morning. We got there late and left early but it was a good place to rest. However, a few days later we received a letter with a $185.00 charge that had been put on our card for pet damage! They claimed our dog had peed on the walls multiple times! Our dog doesn't even know how to lift his leg! He would fall over due to his size and clumsiness, he's a Great Dane. He is also trained very well and hasn't gone inside since he was about 15weeks old, he is now 2. Not to mention that we walk our dog regularly and would never allow this to happen! We were with him the whole time and are obnoxiously attentive to him! We truly feel that this is a scam and they just wanted a way to take more money from us. So sad. Our dog travels with us everywhere and NEVER have had a problem.
