“superb woodwork and fine antique furnishings”
Moffatt-Ladd House & Garden is one of America's finest urban Georgian merchant estates. The site includes the mansion with its superb woodwork and fine antique furnishings, two outbuildings, and a terraced Colonial Revival garden. Commissioned by the merchant John Moffatt in 1760-63, the house remained in the hands of his descendants until it became a museum in 1912.
