“Where pints are served up with live tunes nightly”

Famous (infamous ?) for its nightly live music tradition and unlikely truths of record-breaking tequila consumption, ladies of the evening, Shanghai tunnels and paranormal residents, the legendary White Eagle Café, Saloon & Rock 'n' Roll Hotel makes for memorable lunches or after-work gatherings with coworkers and friends. Enjoy a pint on the outdoor deck and beer garden or head indoors where dinner and a show are served up nightly at this Portland legend — one of the city's oldest bars.

This is a popular bar, but the bar staff are super friendly. There's usually live music and a really good vibe.

McMenamin’s White Eagle Saloon claims to play host to several apparitions, from a prostitute named Rose to the souls of unwitting residents kidnapped via Portland’s infamous Shanghai Tunnels. But despite this eerie history, the bar’s most notorious spirit is that of Sam Warrick, a bartender and cook from the saloon’s pre-prohibition days. Warrick, who can be spotted in the hotel’s trove of historical photos, has been known to fling condiments across the kitchen.

Definitely a unique spot. However, not the place to look for typical hotel conveniences. Shared bathrooms and no air conditioning. Great location, however, as it is within walking distance of great shops and restaurants.

Called Portland’s oldest (and most haunted!) bar, this rock ‘n’ roll tavern also offers 11 cozy guestrooms for those who just can’t leave the party early. Built in 1905, the White Eagle is just blocks away from the MAX public transport line. With live music every night, an outdoor beer garden, full menu offering Northwest pub fare and original antique décor, this is the place to be if you love music, history, merriment and beyond.
