“Waterfront RV Park”

Point Hudson has a waterfront RV park with 46 full hook-up sites and two sites without hook-up.  Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome.  Office hours as above, with self-registration after hours.  Check-out time is no later than noon. The RV park is located adjacent to the shore just to the east of the Point Hudson Marina.  During your stay, you will be able to enjoy long walks from your doorstep to the historic lighthouse at Point Wilson, where the world’s shipping enters the Puget Sound by way of Admiralty Inlet.  If you are also bringing a boat or planning to use one of the local seafaring businesses in Port Townsend, this is the most convenient base for your adventures. While you are here, you will be only a short stroll from the many world-class restaurants in town, as well as the activities and shops that make this the destination of choice for people from all over the world.  The relaxed pace of life here, coupled with our ideal location, make this one of the most desirable RV parks in the Northwest. For your convenience,  access-controlled guest shower, toilet and laundry facilities are located on the property.  Wi-Fi and cable are available for a fee. Beach fires and campfires are not allowed within Port Townsend’s city limits or on Port of Port Townsend properties.

Location is great as it's very close to the waterfront and also to the town so walking around is very easy. Lots of amenities with full hookups available and pet friendly too!

We adore Port Townsend and you just couldn't find a better located RV park for exploring the city. You can bike or walk from the campground to town...plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We especially love the two dry camping spots that have a view of the marina AND the Sound (360/361) but there are plenty of waterfront hookup sites too.

The website and the customer service during booking leaves a bit to be desired...their website and phone system were down for a week or so once when we were trying to make a reservation (!!!). Seems like they have a new website now though, so perhaps this was just a transitional difficulty. :)

RV sites are situated on the point, many directly adjacent to the water, plenty with unobstructed views, and all (even the ones they say have no views) at least have a partial view. There are two separate sections to the park — those on the the west side in the "loop", which are all lined up in a row and face the Sound, and those on the East side, where some a more scattered, and have views of the sound and/or the port. The two dry sites are two of the best — a huge amount of space and a good split view of town and the port. Rates actually range from $20 (dry) to $35 (full hook-ups, not premium view), to $52 for the Premiums sites. The rate I listed about was an average, as I spent half my time in a non-premium site and half in a dry site.

Sort of strange setup in the West loop — campers seem to park in both directions to optimize view, which can make hookups slightly confusing, but it looks like they've installed multiple sewer hookup options, and some with split inlets to cover all bases, so you won't have trouble with sewer, but you might need a long water hose/electric cord depending which way you choose to part.

If saving money is a priority for you, and the dry sites are not an option, I highly recommend site #349 in the "back loop". It's the less expensive price, as you're situated behind the front row of RV's, but because you're on the end, you still have a great view from the side, a lovely shade tree, all framed by the gorgeous flower garden from the B&B next door. From that site, I also had an unobstructed view of the sound out of at least 3/4 of my front window (and, actually, for most of the stay, there was no one at all parked in front of me).

Spotless white subway-tiled bathrooms/showers, but it's 25 cents for each minute-and-a-half.

The locations is also just a block (and a scenic walk) away from downtown, with lots of great dining, coffee and shopping options. There's a farmer's market uptown twice a week that's a walkable. And there's one of the best co-op grocery stores I've ever been to about a 5-minute drive away.

"Location, location, location" pretty much sums this park up. Our rate above reflects an average, as we had to move almost nightly and each space was priced differently. We had only planned on staying for 2 nights, but you just can't walk away from that view! Luckily, they seem to have a lot of cancellations, so it was never an issue to get an additional night, it just required moving. Regardless of your site, you are only steps away from the Puget Sound and magnificent views of Mt. Baker and Whidbey Island. The sites are tight and are not well maintained, but again, the views counteract that. The restrooms are spotless and actually quite stylish (white subway tile and muted colors), however, showers are 25 cents for 1.5 minutes. They have laundry facilities and wifi, but it the wifi was pricey and we weren't willing to pay to see how strong the signal really was. Luckily, the town of Port Townsend is about 2 blocks away and there are many coffee shops with strong, free wifi right on the waterfront. The town is super charming with decent restaurants, fun boutiques, and plenty to entertain. Our favorite perk was being able to launch our kayak right from the park beach and explore the harbor. Definitely a place to come back to!

I know other people love this marina, but for us it was just okay. A stop close to town to run errands in between Whidbey Island and Olympic National Park. The marina itself is a typical RV park, but we were in the full hook-up sites that are fairly close together not the dry camping sites that everyone else loves.

Our kids did love throwing rocks into the water on the beach and it was peaceful.

However, we did eat the most amazing fish & chips and milkshakes at Sea J's. Total dive of a restaurant, but sooo yummy!

There is nothing fancy about this RV park but it was clean, quiet and in a beautiful setting. The sites are very close together but people were respectful and I never heard a sound. Plenty of dogs and a few kids. The best thing about this place is it's a five minute walk into the town of Port Townsend. There are two restaurants essentially in the park. The only downside is when the prep chefs arrive early in the morning it can get noisy for those parked across the street.

This place offers fantastic waterfront views, and sits right on the harbor in Port Townsend, which is an easy 5 min walk. The park itself consists of little more than a few stalls with hookups, across the street from the harbor and its shops. Good restaurants, a super cool wooden kayak company are next door. Restrooms are shared with the harbor guests, and are very clean and nice.

A great place if you want to spend a night in Port Townsend, but other nearby parks offer better features/activities. Still, my favorite place to stay.

The dry-camping spots #360 & #361 have some of the best views, and sounds, both of the water and the marina and are huge sites with much less traffic. If you do not *need* hookups, then I recommend either of those. Otherwise it is a standard RV park on the side of the water; lots of big rigs crammed together with little to no privacy between them.

Don't let that turn you off of the town though. There are no big-brand shops in town, all are local and unique. From the Rose Theatre to the underground restaurant Cellar Door where we had a fine meal and drinks before walking to Siren’s Pub to have a few more while watching the ships float by in the drizzle and darkness of the night. And Soak on the Sound where the warm waters of a private tub worked wonders. Everything in town is worth at least one look, and many are worth a second.

The only real issue is that the RV spaces are part of the shoreline in which everyone else wants to come see. Even though there is signage all over the place saying not to enter unless you are a paying RV customer, you will be constantly visited by wannabe photographers pulling into (or up too) your site to snap pictures. We even had one lady come into our site, sit right at the bumper of our trailer, and painted. They are not a deal-breaker, but it can be annoying if you have dogs that bark every time someone pulls up.

Don't forget to visit Fort Worden and the Point Wilson Lighthouse as well as the Fort Townsend State Park for some great hiking

If you can get a waterfront site, those look great, but more$$. There are two dry camping spots that are well situated. We arrived without reservations and got a spot for a night, but with the Jazz and Blues festivals over the next two weeks, very little in the region is available.

Verizon bandwidth is bad, especially upload (5Mbps/0.25Mbps), but AT&T working great. Booster improved AT&T bandwidth to 17Mbps/7Mbps from 15Mbps/3Mbps. Addendum: moved over one spot (to 315) and AT&T bumped to 40Mbs/20Mbs without boosting. Others here have reported poor Verizon speeds as well.

I go back and forth on this place because I prefer privacy and solitude when camping. That said, for a nice weekend getaway to Port Townsend, you cannot beat this location and the views.

The sites are close together and you'll most likely get to know your neighbors. There's not room between the sites (at least on the point) for much - even getting a BBQ in there would be tight. If you can get one of the waterfront sites, you would have an unobstructed view of heaven, but those sites cost more and are tougher to get. There are two popular restaurants (the Cafe is fantastic for breakfast) and can get a little noisy in the evenings.

The walk to downtown for a stroll down Water street is about 5 minutes. Great shops, coffee, restaurants and the town pretty much always has something going on during the summer months. The whole town (except the Farmers Markets on Saturdays) are very dog friendly - I've even had shop owners invite us into their stores WITH our dogs!

There's a couple of state parks near Port Townsend and we generally opt for those places, but if you're looking for a "glamping" getaway, this is a great spot for it!
