Point Reyes National Seashore

beautiful drive....stranded ship on lead page is easily found in inverness, california on sir frances drake blvd off highway 1....as you come into the town you will see the inverness store, take the laneway on the further side, you will see the ship from there...make sure you also go to the lighthouse at the point and listen for the sea lions on the rocks below

The drive is soooo long but the view is amazing, quite a hike down to the light house. some 300 stairs down (and back up dont forget) but id say worth it.

My sister and I stayed at Dancing Coyote Beach cabins Xmas Eve and Xmas night 2015. It was beautiful. Neither of us knew much about the history of the area or the shipwreck which you could see out our window. Xmas morning we took a walk out to the boat. Little did I know later that I would be visited perhaps by the sea captain of the Point Reyes. I'll keep this story short but Xmas night as my sister lay in the upper loft asleep and I on the couch asleep, I was awakened by the sound of boots or shoes on the wooden floor scuffling around! I was too afraid to turn around to look as I thought it might be a burglar! It took me almost an hour to finally turn around to see nothing at the front door. I checked it and it was still locked. I knew it must have been a ghost. At first I thought it was my sister but when I heard her moan and move in her bed I knew it wasn't her. I was more afraid of it being a physical threat than a ghost. Once I saw the door locked I stayed up and tried to communicate with it, but it had already gone. I even thought at first it could have been the cleaning people! I have to admit, I do tend to attract paranormal happenings and I consider that experience a bonus! I would like to come back again and this time be prepared and not be afraid to face it! Oh and maybe a sign the night we drove to the cabins(Xmas Eve), it was dark and a night before the full moon. Plus it was lightly raining. I saw what I later found out was a "moonbow" while she was driving! It looked just like a rainbow(not really multi colored but rather a glowy arc). I read that these are rare and all the conditions have to be right. What a wonderful magical trip!

Surreal! The lighthouse was also very awesome!

It took us around two hours in order to arrive to this ocean paradise of Point Reyes Natural Seashore, but what we saw cannot be described with words.

We could not believe how crowded it was, and even though the sea water was not calm and there were waves, there were people kayaking.

We just stopped to sunbath and spend a wonderful day by the sea.

The glory of the rocks above you is magnificent and you can easily get the feeling you are alone in an abandoned place somewhere in the globe, even though you are surrounded by people.

The sounds of the seagulls follow you in every step and you can gain privacy on the different small and "tucked between rocks" beaches.

It is worth visiting this place and you will not regret taking this two hours drive because even on your route there is something new to explore!
