Gold Bug was a fantastic experience for all of us. The building is located within nature and its wooden construction blends with its surroundings.
I strongly recommend you should take the guided tour so you get to know everything about the history of this place.
Your children will love the mine tour and will explore and see beautiful things within, like mine did.
Afterwards, we sat at the picnic areas and ate our lunch before we left.
Next time we visit, we will wear more comfortable shoes in order to enjoy walking at the trails better.
15 minute audio tour of a mine, nice picnic area
Very cute stop in gold country. You can go in the mine, although it is a short trip. Great for families, the educational aspects were great.
Tour the mine for $7 pp on a self guided audio tour or hike around the trails onsite. Visit the blacksmith and the little museum and gift shop.
This was a fun stop- the kids (10, 7, and 4) loved panning for gems and there are plenty of small hikes. We didn't have time for the mine tour but did stop at the blacksmith place where the blacksmith talked to us. There is a huge picnic area to eat at. We went in July and it wasn't crowded at all.
