“Home of bizarre taxidermy and crazy steampunk treasures!”
ATTN: Tours of the manor are by appointment only and are booked one week in advance. Make sure to call ahead. 412-916-5544 We have always considered ourselves an old fashioned part of roadside America. Trundle Manor is currently the headquarters of the Secret Society of Odd Acquisition and is curated by the eccentric Mr Arm and Velda Von Minx. Built in 1910, Trundle Manor was rumored to be involved in Pittsburgh-area gay sex prostitution ring, but has since become a place where a culmination of years of insane collecting and creating has found its niche. Want to be a little creeped out? Need something different to bring your chick to? Like horror movies and want to see the beginnings of a serial killer's obsession? Well, come on down and experience all of this and more. If you are Steampunk, Goth, rockabilly or just a little weird you will love Trundle Manor and want to come back often. Come and see our vast array of jarred animals, antique taxidermy, things for which to murder with, old world charm, sadistic medical devices, coffins and coffin like items, Steampunk influenced creations, cryptozoology, and any other thing your twisted mind will want to look at. Nothing in the Manor is rubber, latex, or fake, (except Uncle Trundle)! We pride ourselves on not filling our shelves with cheesy, fake memorabilia. Trundle Manor thrives on donations, and that can be anything you want it to be. We love getting what people think of as an odd item but money is always good. Any money donated is put right back into the collection. Trundle Manor is considered a bona fide tourist trap and will leave you and your family scratching your heads wondering how you ever lived without seeing our establishment before. Spend your time wowing your friends at the fact that you know of this place. We have Wi-Fi Internet and allow smoking and drinking. When you make a reservation at Trundle Manor we strive to give you the best experience we can! Contact Mr Arm via our contact page to arrange a tour. Please make your reservations at least one week in advance. The tour lasts around 45 minutes depending on the people and please be aware that tour times are nebulous so get yours locked down today! Remember though: missed time is lost time that we here at the Manor could use to make the next great attraction for the exhibit so please inform us of any changed plans or major delays.
Some of the weird and twisted things you'll see when you visit Trundle Manor include jars of human teeth, old electro-shock therapy machines, ray guns, gimp masks, various toenails, cattle probes, and of course, terrifying medical tools sure to give you nightmares for a week. In other words, you're going to have an awesome time!
Three friends and I visited the Manor and were given the tour by none other than the lovely Velma von Minx herself. After ringing the front bell the door opened with the requisite creak and squeek. We were warmly greeted by Ms. von Minx and their 22 lb kitty cat. In an instant I felt transported into a cabinet of curiosities of a mad scientist. There are thousand's of objects throughout the Manor so be sure to take your time to peruse the oddities you'll encounter. Ms. von Minx is a wealth of information on each and every piece in there so be sure to ask questions to gain some insight as to the history of the anthropomorphic taxidermy, organs and fetuses in jars, teeth, embalming tools and machine, etc., etc., etc. It's a bit difficult to describe everything you'll encounter at the Manor because it's just so overwhelming. It's only a few rooms but it's packed from floor to ceiling. I would place it on a "Must See" list.
This place is amazing. I love it. It's definitely weird (think Frankenstein taxidermy and Addams Family memorabilia and weird medical devices), and not to be missed. You'll get a personal tour and so you get the full story on all of the oddities. And, the coolest part is, they accept weird items in exchange for the tour if you don't want to pay money.
