“A magnificent view of Pittsburgh's "Golden Triangle"”
Scale Mount Washington in one of two original 1877 cable cars for a fun and unique ride and a breathtaking view of the Pittsburgh skyline when you reach the top of the 400-foot incline. Parking available across the street from our lower station at 1197 West Carson Street.
Senior citizens can go up and down for free. Had a difficult time finding the parking lot but ended up in a $7 lot. There are two inclines and both of them will take you up to fantastic views!
Don't miss the machine room at the top. It's an extra 0.50, but possibly the most interesting part of the incline.
Parking is available in gravel lot across from lower station. It's not free, but reasonable.
Note that many of the restaurants at the top are not open for lunch.
Parking is $5 and you pay at the machine. Bring exact cash to pay for your tickets up/down the incline. They have a change machine but if you use a larger bill you'll be stuck with a bunch of coins. The ride is about 90 seconds and offers spectacular views of the city. My kids loved it!
It is awesome
It's interesting to see antique transportation if you're into that. The view is amazing though. It's the quintessential photo op spot of pittsburgh
So many great memories from the incline as a kid. Really cool view at the top as well.
It's ok I suppose. $5 to go up and down
Worth it. Beautiful view.
Neat place to take in a quick view of the city, plus such a cool feat of engineering! Make sure you have exact change for parking and your ticket, when we visited (2/19/16) it cost $2.00 for the first hour and $1.00 per additional hour to park, and the incline was $2.50 One way (so $5 to ride it up and back down).
This was pretty cool! There's not much around either the top or bottom of the incline to do, but there's some good info on the incline at the top and you can't beat the view :)
