Pismo State Beach offers all kinds of attractions: hiking, swimming, surf fishing, and digging for the famous Pismo clam. There are tree-lined dunes and the beach is popular with bird watchers. The park has the largest over-wintering colony of monarch butterflies in the U.S. - Ocean Lagoon has a wheelchair-accessible fishing overhang. - Four restaurants are within 2 blocks of the campground. - ATV rentals are available within 2 blocks of the park. - A trolly service provides access to the surrounding community.

Nice showers, just got to get tokens from machine. Still really nice showers. Sites are nice and great place to visit the beach (not visible from campground, but just a few feet over the dunes.) $35 for a spot with no electric/water, but it is California $

Price is right. Bathrooms were disgusting for days. Staff was rude or simply not present. Many sites were marked with chairs chained to the tables by locals or coned off by staff for their admittedly off the books reservations for friends (at a no reservations campground). Grounds are in the town but we knew that going in. If you have no good reason to visit Pismo area there is no good reason to visit this campground.

Grounds are well taken care of. Showers are nice, but the building they are in is not heated; if you go during colder months, shower during the warmest part of the day to avoid chills. Nice dish-washing area outside the shower/restroom buildings. Next to a butterfly grove and just over a dune from the beach. Great location.
